hello my friends - so sorry about yesterday!
I am better and I am so excited to share my new Top Note Box that I created espcially for the Big Shot Blog. I did alot of research on this, and this my firend is an original! I sure you hope you like it.
Oh and the best part, is that I am going to be making a video and sharing it with all of you Saturday! I am so excited, and really nervous he he :) Anyways, so if these instructions are confusing, then you need to come back on Saturday and watch my FIRST ever Video! YHIKES!
Okay, I actually started with a colour challenge on this! he he :)
"This is new to me"
so this is my colour inspiration
so that this makes sense I am actually going to show you my project first!
my first thing I did was so create the box.
now I am going to show you how did the box, and them I covered it. I really wanted it to be a stong box. In my video I will be doing the box with a single layer with cardstock.
But this one, I used the cardboard that comes in every DP Package, that most people throw in the garbage he he :)
So I cut that to 9 1/2 x 91/2 to make my base
on the one side, I scored 2 1/2'' and then at 7'' - I did that on two sides to create a square in the center
so youc an see my score lines very well here (I hope hehe )
now you are going to cut just like the photo - sorry hard to explain it - it will be better on the video I promise
look at this, how fast is that???
now for the lid you will cut your cardboard to 6 3/4 6 3/4 and you
scrore at 1'' and then at 5 3/4'' again to make a sqaure in the center
you will cut the corners just like the base then adhere like this - put your little tab in so they won't be on the outside.
okay then I covered it with textured card stock - but I want to show you how I made the top and bottom to be bigger then a regular top note size - cause your box finished measures 5'' x 5''
how cool would it be if you put cards in this cute little box?
so what you will do a cut a peace of textured card stock to measurea approx, 6'' x 6''
doesnt have to be exact okay.
Then you will fold in to four, so fold in half and half again.
the folds are going facing the center
hope this is clear as mud he he :)
then run it thrue your BIG SHOT (Stampin Up)
okay no worries my friends, it won't stay like that!
I am going to take a textured plate and I am going to get rid of those fold marks
it fits perfectly - any bigger and I would of been hooped
okay back to our box now
I covered up the cardboard by cutting strips and scoring them - but like I said the box that I am going to video will only use cardstock
I cut 2 pieces of card stock 2 1/2 x 11'' and I scored it at 2 1/8'' for the lid
then I did the same thing for the base - but that measurement is
9 3/4 x 5 1/18'' I Scored it at 2 1/2''
okay now we are just going to cover all sides and put an insert piece.
it's just like wrapping a Christmas gift - getting some practice for the up and coming season!
coming together very nicley
putting the top and bottom on now
so now I am ready to show you what I did to decorate it. I am going to keep short I promise
I used Inspired by nature for image on the top - craft ink and embossed
I also coloure this beautiful ribbon with my pumkin pie marker
this is the top view - you can see the pretty ribbon and the embossed image pretty good.
This box is really hard to photograph!
What do you think?
wanta a video, come on I want to hear from you??
okay
thanks so much for understanding about yesterday, I surely do appreciate
Happy thanksgiving for all my U.S Friends
embossed hug from me

I LOVE this, but then I haven't seen anything from you I don't love. Please Miss Carol'Anne may we have a video. Your posting is great and explains it well but a video would be over the top fantastic. I also love your nails, they make beautiful pictures. It's kind of like the Vanna White of the stamping world. I wish nurses could have them but we aren't allowed, sigh. Anyway thanks for the visual fun. Is Max going to hold the camera for the video?

Great design, CaroleAnne. I like the idea of covering stiffer material to make a stronger box. I will have to play with this idea--thanks for sharing.
