Good Day!
It's Sunday and I am rushed this morning! I am making a big lunch/dinner for my husband's birthday today! We should be about 16 people!
Been cooking since 2:00am! ( well I started soaking the beans and put the ribs in a special marinate last night)
It's coming along nicely and in between cooking I finished my card!
I still have to make a card for Rex! I know I am so far behind! If I didn't have to work yesterday all would of worked better - but hey I am so thankful for the work that I am so not complaining!
sooooooooooooo two big news events before we get to my card
1
the winner
are you ready???
The lucky recipient of my beloved "Tess" is.....................
Tammy Jackson!
Congratulations Tammy - I will be shipping Tess out to you real soon!
2
the second big news is:
The new prize for the
BLOG CANDY
is:
Vintage Voge - but in FRENCH -
it is called
"Vague Vintage"
okay so onto finishing my card
first I used The Mojo Monday Sketch and also the LNS Ribbon challenge
The colours were inspired by a new designer paper!
It is called Sweet Pea - it's new and in the Stampin Up! Occasions Mini catalogue
on page 33 - whow you get 48 pages and all double sided that is 96 pages of 12'' x 12'' DSP can you beleive it??
okay so the colours are as follows:
Chocolate chip, Old Olive, So Saffron and Pale Plum
I used my Big Shot and my Circle cutter to created both the scalloped circle and the other circles
some of my circles
so I have matted alot of layers and I have done my faux stiching ribbon
I used the Fifth Avenue Rose to stamp
I did a tone on tone -
So Saffron on So Saffron card stock
I edge my circle with So Saffron a little shimmer paint!
you didn't think I wouldn't use shimmer paint did you?? lol
I used the stamp called
"Define your life"
Stampin Up idea book page 150 for the greeting
one pale plum
with the Stampin Markers
I know I love to colour ribbon - so cool uh??
he he!
then I used the same rose and stamped the inside
and Thank You greeting
and you can see the punch that I used here
Remember it's from the Sale-a-bration promotion so you could get this Punch FREE
buttons Old Olive - adhered with Crystal Effects -
another one of my favs.
and I am ready to show you my card
It's done yhe!
The 3 ribbons tied onto the Chocolate chip ribbon
up close
I got to get back to cooking my BIG meal!

Love your site and the inspiration! My son is taking French and would love to have him surprise his French teacher with a card. Thanks for all your hard work on your blog. It truly is a big help for an orphan demonstrator like myself.

Hard to believe you can put together an amazing card and a dinner for 16 at the same time!

That card is so so beautiful, I love the scalloped edge and the ribbon and all of it.
Your dinner/supper was so great, everything was delicious. The table was also set so beautifully with your beautiful china. The soup, the beans, the ribs, the vegetables the holandaise sauce and the potatoes all cooked to perfection and all from scratch. I don't know how you do it all, so much work. I really enjoyed it and so did Bill.
Love you, mom

Carole'Anne, I am blown away by all the wonderful details you incorporated into your card! Thanks for sharing how to do the ribbon....it is such a unique treatment! I also love how you custom-colour your ribbons, and how you use them so freely! As I've mentioned before, your cards are so amazing that you can look at them time and again, and notice something new and different about them! Best Birthday Wishes to Rex...mmm-mmm, I can just smell the wonderful aromas coming from your ribs and baked beans!
